Hope Center Orphanage Complete!

Updated: Jan 20, 2019

According to the National Population & Housing Census in 2014, between 7.2 and 11.4% of the Ibanda district population between ages 0-17 were deemed orphans. This great need is the reason DHR sponsored a project to build an orphanage. The building was completed in June 2016 and houses up to 60 orphans. It is currently managed by local widows in Ibanda, Uganda. Some students of the educational complex right down the road in Ibanda, Uganda also live in this facility.

The orphanage was funded by Mrs. Hope Jones in memory of her parents. The finished product is beautiful and only walking distance from the education complex so that children without living parents also have a viable means to get education.

The total cost of this project was $60,614. 100% of all funds received toward this have been donated to building effort.
