Dr. Herldleen Russell
Founder & Executive Director
Dr. Herldleen Russell, a native of Chicago, Illinois, has traveled across Africa, Central and South America, Europe, and throughout the United States as a powerful speaker and teacher. She serves as an International Evangelist for the Church of God in Christ, Inc., and is a graduate of Moody Bible Institute with a Doctorate of Divinity from Trinity Hall College and Seminary.
In 1997, after being invited to Uganda, East Africa, to conduct a Women’s Conference, the Lord spoke to her heart and said, “Ask for Africa.” This divine call led her to begin hosting annual ministry trips to Uganda, Kenya, and South Africa—conducting Pastors’, Women’s, and Youth Conferences that continue to impact thousands.
When pastors requested formal training, Dr. Russell established the Dr. Herldleen Russell School of Ministry, which now operates five campuses and has graduated over 500 pastors. She was later appointed by the late Bishop Henderson as Supervisor of Women for the Republic of Uganda Jurisdiction, where the first Women’s Convention in 2006 drew more than 3,000 women.
In 2013 the Dr. Herldleen Russell Ministries was established, as a 5013c, providing clothing, shoes, school supplies, and over 1,000 pounds of materials to indigenous people of Uganda. The ministry has also built schools, orphanages, and clean-water wells, focusing on reaching remote villages where few others go.
Dr. Russell is a published author of nine books and the widow of the late Dr. Herbert Russell, Senior Pastor of Ridgley Ministries COGIC. She is the mother of five, grandmother of eighteen, and great-grandmother of six. A servant leader, she remains dedicated to equipping men and women of God to use their gifts for His glory.
