Library/Multi-Purpose Building Progress

Education for children between the ages 6-12 remains a challenge for several parts of the Republic of Uganda. In 2013, the DHR Ministries established an effort to create an Educational Complex in Ibanda, Uganda that would seek to provide necessary resources for children to receive a world-class educational experience. This complex includes a 7 classroom primary school, a library/multi-purpose building, its own kitchen, latrines for boys and girls, a girl and boy dormitory for children who live far away from the school, and an administration building for the local staff and faculty.

The primary school has been fully operational since 2015 with more than 300 students enrolled each year. The boy dormitory and kitchen is also complete and operational. The girl dormitory is also nearly complete. The featured video shows the latest progress of the much needed Library/Multi-Purpose building. The total cost of this effort is $26,673. To date, more than $14,000 has been raised. Three of the five phases are now complete, the foundation, and the walls/beams, and the roof.

The remaining phase includes the openings (windows) and outer finishing.
